About Scott

Scott graduated cum laude from Marquette University Law School in 1989 and quickly established himself in the legal community. Shortly after graduation, he argued in the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals, marking the beginning of a prolific career. He has since appeared in state and federal courts across Wisconsin and other states, including the Wisconsin Court of Appeals and the Wisconsin Supreme Court.

Throughout his career, Scott has developed vast experience in complex commercial litigation, handling cases related to anti-trust, contractual disputes, covenants not to compete, securities fraud, and shareholder disputes. His clients range from individuals and small businesses to large corporations. He is notably skilled in representing shareholders in derivative actions and has served as court-appointed counsel in numerous class actions, collaborating with leading class action firms to champion plaintiffs’ rights. Furthermore, Scott is a respected guest lecturer on class actions from the plaintiffs’ perspective.

Recognized consistently for his legal acumen, Scott has been included in Super Lawyers for over a decade and in America’s Best Lawyers from 2011 to the present. In 2022, he was honored as Anti-Trust Lawyer of the Year for Milwaukee. He holds an AV 5.0 Preeminent rating from Martindale Hubbell and is a Fellow of the Litigation Counsel of America.

While an accomplished litigator, Scott prioritizes litigation avoidance, striving to keep his clients out of court whenever feasible. His honest and straightforward approach ensures that his clients are well-informed of their legal options and the potential outcomes. After 35 years of extensive practice, Scott is now seeking to leverage his expertise as a judge in Waukesha County. He is committed to upholding a fair and impartial judiciary that interprets and applies laws and regulations as written, ensuring that the judiciary reflects the will of the legislature and the Constitution.

On a personal note, Scott has been a long-time resident of Southeastern Wisconsin, living in Waukesha County since 2001. He resides in Pewaukee with his wife Kathy, son Alex, who will be a senior at Pewaukee High School, and daughter Sydney, who is a recent graduate of the Washington College of Law at American University and now serves as a law clerk in the U.S. Virgin Islands. Scott and Kathy enjoy spending time with their other children who live in and near Waukesha County: Katlyn & her family (Blaine, Rose, Millie and Gracie), Evan, and Taylor. The family also enjoys the company of their dogs, Harley and Noodle. Outside the courtroom, Scott is passionate about golfing, riding roller coasters, and enjoying time with his family. His community involvement extends to over a decade of coaching soccer and participating in various local activities.
